Heating & Cooling for Northgate, North Fremont
Northgate homeowners often tell us they never needed air conditioning until recently. North Fremont is cooler than the south end of town, but a handful of hot weeks each year, plus more time working from home, has a lot of families adding central air for the first time.
ComfortFlow provides heating and cooling service in Northgate, the north Fremont neighborhood near the Union City line. Most homes are 1960s and 70s builds with gas furnaces and attic ducts, and many never had central air. We repair furnaces, clean and seal ducts, and add or replace AC systems with permits and load calculations included.
Common Northgate jobs
Furnace repairs and safety checks each fall, duct cleaning and sealing in homes with original ductwork, and first-time AC or heat pump installations sized to the existing ducts.
North Fremont, near the Union City line
Northgate sits in the north end of Fremont, close to Union City and the Decoto Road and Paseo Padre corridors. Bay breezes keep summers milder here than in Warm Springs, and winter nights are cool and damp, so the furnace is still the hardest-working appliance in the house.
Original ducts in Northgate attics were sized for heating only. When we add AC, we check whether those ducts can carry enough cool air and resize where needed.

Northgate HVAC questions
Can I add AC to my existing furnace in Northgate?
Usually, yes. We add a coil and outdoor unit and check that the ducts and blower can handle cooling airflow.
My ducts were built for heat only. Is that a problem?
Sometimes. Cooling needs more airflow, so a few runs or the return may need upsizing.
Is a heat pump a better choice than adding AC?
If your furnace is older, a heat pump replaces both and may cost only a little more than AC alone.
Do you serve homes near the Union City border?
Yes, and Union City itself.
